Surakarta, November 8, 2024 — The Master of Civil Engineering Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) successfully held a Book Chapter Writing Workshop on Friday, November 8, 2024. The event took place offline in Room 4.6 of the Graduate School Building and was attended by postgraduate students and academic advisors from the program.
The workshop featured Mrs. Purwanti Sri Pudyastuti, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., as the main speaker. She is a lecturer and an active author in various scientific publications and book chapters, particularly in the field of civil engineering and water resources. In her presentation, Dr. Purwanti outlined practical and strategic steps for writing a high-quality book chapter, including topic selection, chapter structure, and ethical considerations in scientific publishing.
This workshop aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for producing academic writings that can be published at national and international levels. Through this initiative, students are expected to contribute scholarly work that supports the academic advancement and reputation of the program.
The session was highly interactive, with participants engaging in discussions and consultations on their writing ideas. At the end of the workshop, the speaker also shared valuable insights on publication opportunities and research collaborations across institutions.
